Fahrenheit 451 # 14

In the novel Fahrenheit 451 it is illegal to read books. There is firefighters are are around to destroy the books. They destroy them by burning them until they have no books. This is a horrible thing to do. I think Ray Bradbury was trying to get to the point that we are all lazy and we do not want to read any more. In the book, it was mentioned that in schools the kids do not read books any more and literature is going down the drain. This means that all of out literature and grammar is going away. Without grammar, we would all talk like red necks. I wonder how the people even knew how to communicate and talk to eachother if they were never taught the correct way to speak. How does the schools teach leassons? If they can not have any books to read and it is illegal to read anything, how do they communicat to the students. I also wonder what the people who need to advertise upcoming events or just to let people know what is going on and how they get the message out. They said that there used to be a newspaper and printing companies in the old days, but they were now illegal and not allowed to be used. What if there was no books left in the whole world. What would we do? Would we be educated at all? Would we be as smart as we once were. I think they did this because they were so lazy they did not want to have to read anymore or to deal with the deciphering of the old literature and the old language. I also think the government does not want us to know what happened back in the old days because they think that nothing will happen like that again. They do not understand that history repeats itself. I am glad that we have books. They are very interesting and we can learn alot from them.
