Fahrenheit 451 #13

In the novel, Fahrenheit 451, it is illegal to read and to own books. Guy Montag, who is a firefighter, is a firefighter who sets fire to books so no one will read them. At the fire department, there are dogs. They are called mechanical dogs. One day at the fire house, the dog was growling at Guy. He said this was the second time that the dog did this to him. He talked to the cheif about the dog and the cheif told him that someone probably programed him to do it and he would get it checked out. This was a crazy idea. The dogs are not actual dogs that are pets. Their only job is to sniff out books. They can sniff out the books so the firefighters can get rid of them. When the dogs are not doing anything, they are doing nothing. They just sit in their cages and veg out. This is sad because dogs are very good friends and companions to people. People have always had dogs for pets. I personally like dogs more than cats. I like them because if they are trained right and correctly they are very obediant and loyal to their owners. They are very good listeners and they are fun to play with. The dogs in the book are only played with when they are needed and to find the books that people have hidden. I have no clue what the dogs look like. I would guess that they look more like robots than actual dogs that bark and jump around. A good thing about a mechanical dog is they listen to the masters easily and they are obedient and they follow directions the first time they are given. When Guy Montag is reading a book, the cheif sends a dog to his door to warn him that the cheif knows he has books. When Guy Montag runs away, they send mechanical dogs after him to catch Guy. The dogs are great trackers, but they loose him when he jumps in the water. I am gld we have normal dogs.
